One Sweater Two Ways

Sweater (size down if between) // Earrings // Leggings // Heels, old - similar here

I cannot believe it's Thanksgiving week already!  We are hosting Thanksgiving at our house this year, so I'm getting nervous about everything I need to do before then.  I always get super nervous when I'm in charge of the turkey!  That's way too much pressure.

I picked up this under $50 sweater from Nordstrom last week, and I'm in love with it.  The sizing does run slightly large, so be aware of that when ordering.  I'm wearing a small here, but I probably should have sized down to an XS.  It comes in so many pretty color options ... I may grab another one!  And how pretty are these earrings?  I can't believe they were only $13!

For more outfit inspiration, follow along on Facebook and Instagram.  Have a great week and a fantastic Thanksgiving!

October Amazon Favorites

These days you can buy pretty much anything on Amazon, and I spend a good chunk of change each month doing just that.  I went through my October purchases and found the best items ... and they all just happen to be less than $20!  You can check out my complete list of recommended Amazon products here.

These S & T Always Off Makeup Remover Cloths are a new staple in my nightly beauty regimen.  I'd heard great things about the Norwex and Miracle Face Eraser Makeup Removing Cloths but wasn't thrilled about spending $20 on one.  If you haven't heard of them, makeup remover cloths are reusable (similar to a washcloth but much softer and gentler on your skin) and are made out of microfiber to lift all the makeup, dirt, and oil away with just water!  When searching for a cheaper alternative, I found these S & T Always Off Makeup Remover Cloths in a pack of 5 for just $7 with free Prime shipping, and they work SO good!

My hairdresser recently gave Mason a new hair cut, and to style it in the morning she recommended this Segbeauty Fine Mist Spray Bottle.  Seriously the best spray bottle EVER!  It's a mister, and it continues to spray for several seconds even after you've stopped squeezing the handle.  Definitely a good investment if you regularly wet your hair or your children's hair (or mist your house plants) with a spray bottle!

I'm picky about my leggings, so I was hesitant to try this pair from Amazon, but they've turned out to be my favorite pair.  I find myself reaching for them over my Zella leggings often times because they're just so comfortable.  And for $16, you can't beat the price!

These earrings are the perfect dupes of these earrings from BaubleBar that are more than triple the price!  I was so happy with them that I ended up also purchasing this pair and this pair, which are dupes of this pair and this pair from BaubleBar.  I'm extremely happy with the quality of all 3 pairs - and the fact that I saved myself nearly $80!

If you enjoyed this article, I'd love if you gave the Nineteen Windsor Facebook page a like!  I'm slowly making my way toward my goal of 20K likes by the end of the year, and I'd love if you'd help me get there.  You can also find me on Pinterest and Instagram.  This article contains affiliate links, which means that I earn a small commission (at no additional cost to you) if you purchase items from these links.  As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

There are so many great items at Target right now, and I'm rounding up all of my favorites in this post.  With the release of all the new clothing lines at Target, like Universal Thread, A New Day, and Wild Fable, to name just a few, I'm now even buying my jeans there - when I used to be a strictly designer jeans kind of girl.  If you haven't bought clothes at Target in awhile, give them a try again.  They've really stepped up their game over the past year!  You can find the current trends at a fraction of the price, and they have some great designer dupes - like my sweater above from the A New Day "cozy" line that is nearly identical to the Gibson cozy fleece items at Nordstrom that are nearly triple the price.  And yes, my toddler Wyatt is taking a flying leap on my bed behind me.  He consistently provides the best photo bombs for my pics!

Chakra Gemstone Rollerball Kit - Supercharge Your Essential Oils!

I don't know about you, but when cooler weather rolls around, my essential oils start getting a lot more use.  I always have a Stress Relief roller and an Immunity roller handy to use on myself and my kiddos, which is why I was so excited when Rocky Mountain Oils offered to let me try out their new Chakra Gemstone Rollerball Kit!

This kit comes with 10 gemstone rollerballs, which you just attach to your existing roll-on bottles.  Gemstones have been used for thousands of years as a source of natural healing.  Each gemstone has its own unique properties that contribute to a specific type of healing.  Just add your desired gemstone to your roller to supercharge the benefits of your essential oils.  Here's a list of the 10 gemstones in the kit and what their specific benefits are:

  • Amethyst - stone of spirit and transformation. Opens the mind to new ideas.
  • Blue Lace Agate - improves communication and encourages you.
  • Carnelian - the stone of passion and motivation (my personal favorite!)
  • Citrine - to clear and energize the mind and encourages creativity and decisiveness.
  • Clear Quartz - stone of healing, which enhances your thoughts and energy.
  • Green Aventurine - stone of opportunity that helps you find optimism and prosperity.
  • Hematite - removes toxins and negative thoughts from mind and body.
  • Red Aventurine - increases energy and vitality
  • Rose Quartz - assists with healing emotional wounds.
  • Sodalite - stone of harmony that brings tranquility.

These chakra gemstone rollerball kits also make excellent gifts for the essential oils users in your life!  You can also buy the gemstone rollerballs attached to prepared blends like these, but I haven't had the opportunity to try them out yet.

This kit was provided to me free of charge by Rocky Mountain Oils in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are my own.

Day 7 of the Closet Cleanout Challenge - INTIMATES & MISCELLANEOUS

You've made it!  You're on the last day of the 7 Day Closet Cleanout Challenge!  You're closet should be looking amazing by now, and today we're just going to finish up the random things we may have missed earlier in the challenge.  If you missed the post that explains what the challenge is, go back and read it HERE.

WHAT TO KEEP VS. WHAT GET RID OF

The whole point of this challenge is to declutter our closets (and thus, our lives) so that we can spend less time digging for items, as well as have a beautiful space filled with items we truly love.  Today we'll be going through our intimates and any other miscellaneous items we still haven't sorted through, like pajamas, and categorizing each of them into one of three categories: KEEP, SELL, OR DONATE.  Take a hard look at each item and ask yourself these questions:
  1. Would I buy this if I saw it in the store today?
  2. Have I worn it in the past year?
  3. Is it still in good shape?
If you answered "yes" to all three questions, put it in the KEEP pile.  If not, it's time to get rid of it.  For the ones you're getting rid of, if they're in really good shape (especially like-new items), put them in the SELL pile.  If not, they go in the DONATE pile.

For the SELL pile, you can either sell these in a garage sale, on Craigslist, to a local consignment store, or to my personal favorite, ThredUp.  I use ThredUp because it's so easy.  You just request a free clean out bag from their website, fill it with your name brand clothing that's in good condition, and mail it back (free of charge).  They will pay you for the clothes they keep and decide to resell.

For your DONATE pile, bag it up and take it to the charity or shelter of your choice.  If donating to a charity, make sure to ask for a receipt so you can deduct it on your taxes.  You can find some guidelines for how to value your used clothing here.

HOW TO STORE YOUR INTIMATES

I never put much thought into how I store my bras and underwear.  I just threw them in a drawer.  But inevitably, the drawer would become a jumbled mess.  About a year ago, I read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and started using the Kon Mari method to organize my intimates drawer.  Check out a demonstration video here!  I love this method and finds that it keeps the drawer tidy indefinitely.  I use small box lids to keep everything tidy.  This is not my drawer because I'd rather not post my underwear on the internet, but you're going for something that looks like this:

I can't wait to see the final product of all your hard work.  Share your closet pictures (with or without your underwear) on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #7DayClosetCleanoutChallenge to be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Target gift card!

Day 6 of the Closet Cleanout Challenge - COATS & JACKETS

It's Day 6 of the 7 Day Closet Cleanout Challenge!  We're on the home stretch toward having a well organized closet full of the items that make us look and feel our best.  If you missed the post that explains what the challenge is and how to get entered into the giveaway that's taking place at the end of the week, go back and read it HERE.

Today we'll be cleaning out our coats and jackets.  I find this to be one of the easiest days, so hopefully you will too!

WHAT TO KEEP VS. WHAT GET RID OF

The whole point of this challenge is to declutter our closets (and thus, our lives) so that we can spend less time digging for items, as well as have a beautiful space filled with items we truly love.  Today we'll be going through our coats and jackets and categorizing each of them into one of three categories: KEEP, SELL, OR DONATE.  Take a hard look at each item and ask yourself these questions:

HOW TO STORE COATS & JACKETS

No surprises here - I hang my jackets and coats in our hall closet by the garage door.  I find it much more convenient than keeping them in my bedroom closet, especially bulky winter coats.  The most aesthetically pleasing way to hang coats (or anything, for that matter) is to hang them from shortest to longest.  I put the shortest coats on the left-hand side (generally my kids' coats) and work my way to the longest coats on the right-hand side.  This also frees up space under the shorter coats, where I added a small shoe rack for the entire family to store their most-often worn shoes.

I'd love to hear how all of you store your coats and jackets - and to see pictures!  Don't forgot to post those pictures on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #7DayClosetCleanoutChallenge to be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Target gift card!

Day 5 of the Closet Cleanout Challenge - JEWELRY, BELTS, & SCARVES

I can't believe we're already on Day 5 of the 7 Day Closet Cleanout Challenge!  Are your closets starting to look clean, pared down, and organized?  I can't wait to see everyone's results after day 7!  If you missed the post that explains what the challenge is and how to get entered into the giveaway that's taking place at the end of the week, go back and read it HERE.

Today we'll be cleaning out our jewelry, belts, & scarves.

WHAT TO KEEP VS. WHAT GET RID OF

The whole point of this challenge is to declutter our closets (and thus, our lives) so that we can spend less time digging for items, as well as have a beautiful space filled with items we truly love.  Today we'll be going through our jewelry, belts, and scarves one by one and categorizing each of them into one of three categories: KEEP, SELL, OR DONATE.  Take a hard look at each item and ask yourself these questions:

HOW TO STORE JEWELRY, BELTS, & SCARVES

As I've said throughout this entire process, how you choose to store these items is completely up to you.  There's no "right" or "wrong" way to do it.  I'll be sharing how I personally store these items in case that helps inspire you.  At this very moment, I store my jewelry in a large jewelry box.  However, I'm planning on moving my small items, like rings and earrings, to a smaller jewelry box, and then I'm going to be hanging all of my necklaces from hooks in my closet.  I'll be storing my bracelets on t-bars like these.  My belts are also currently hanging, but I plan to move those onto shelves in little cubbies (see below).  Here are my inspiration pictures from Brighton the Day:

I bought this hanger for my scarves about a year ago and really like it, so I'm planning to continue to use that for my scarves.  I'll link up other options as well below.

I can't wait to see all of your photos - before, during, or after the clean out process!  Just be sure to use the hashtag #7DayClosetCleanoutChallenge to be entered into the drawing for the $25 Target gift card that I'll be doing at the end of the week!

Day 4 of the Closet Cleanout Challenge - PANTS & SHORTS

Welcome to Day 4 of the 7 Day Closet Cleanout Challenge!  If you missed the post that explains what the challenge is and how to get entered into the giveaway that's taking place at the end of the week, go back and read it HERE.

Today we'll be sorting through all of our pants and shorts.  This includes jeans and leggings, as well as dress pants!

WHAT TO KEEP VS. WHAT GET RID OF

The whole point of this challenge is to decluter our closets (and thus, our lives) so that we can spend less time digging for items, as well as have a beautiful space filled with items we truly love.  We're going to follow the exact same process we used when sorting through our tops yesterday.  The first step is to move all of your pants and shorts into one central area of your closet where you can see them all.  Then, go through them one by one and categorize each of them into one of three categories: KEEP, SELL, OR DONATE.

HOW TO STORE PANTS & SHORTS

You can either hang or fold your pants, depending on personal preference.  I hang my dress pants, and fold my jeans and shorts and stack them on a shelf.  I hang everything in my closet on these hangers because in addition to being very slim and space saving, having all of your hangers match makes everything look so much more organized and uniform!  I color coordinate my pants, the same way I do with my tops.

Just remember, how you organize your closet is a personal decision that should make the most sense to YOU.  There's no "right" or "wrong" way to do it!

I can't wait to see all of your photos - before, during, or after the clean out process!  Just be sure to use the hashtag #7DayClosetCleanoutChallenge to be entered into the drawing for the $25 Target gift card that I'll be doing at the end of the week!

Day 3 of the Closet Cleanout Challenge - TOPS

Welcome to Day 3 of the 7 Day Closet Cleanout Challenge!  If you missed the post that explains what the challenge is and how to get entered into the giveaway that's taking place at the end of the week, go back and read it HERE.  Today's task is one of the biggest ones we'll have this week.  We'll be sorting through all of our tops today.  This includes our tank tops, tees, long sleeved tops, sweaters ... everything. Remember, each task is meant to take around 30 minutes, so if you're getting overwhelmed or have a large number of items to go through, you can always break this step into multiple days.

WHAT TO KEEP VS. WHAT GET RID OF

The whole point of this challenge is to declutter our closets (and thus, our lives) so that we can spend less time digging for items, as well as have a beautiful space filled with items we truly love.  The first step is to move all of your tops into one central area of your closet where you can see them all.  We're going to go through them one by one and categorize each of them into three categories: KEEP, SELL, OR DONATE.

I choose ThredUp because it's so easy.

HOW TO STORE TOPS

I like to hang all of my tops, excluding sweaters, which I fold and store on shelves.  I hang everything in my closet on these hangers because in addition to being very slim and space saving, having all of your hangers match makes everything look so much more organized and uniform!

I personally like to separate my tops into 4 different "sections" in my closet:  tank tops, short sleeves, long sleeves, and sweaters.  I've recently added a new category - cardigans - and decided to hang them because my sweater section is getting too full, and, let's be real, cardigans can be hard to fold!  Once I have my tops hung in their respective categories, I color coordinate them.  I know color coordinating definitely isn't for everyone, but in addition to looking oh-so-organized, it's easier to find things and put outfits together!  I even color coordinate my husband's shirts (so they don't ruin the general aesthetic of our shared closet, of course) but he may not appreciate it quite as much as I do.

Just remember, how you organize your closet is a personal decision that should make the most sense to YOU.  There's no "right" or "wrong" way to do it!

I fold my sweaters (and all of my folded clothing) per the Kon Mari Method.  You can watch a video demonstrating here.  SIDE NOTE - Marie Kondo, the creator of this method, is a little crazy, which you know if you've read her book.  The book does have some good tips on folding and storing items, and it's also quite entertaining to hear her talk about how our clothes have feelings (yep, I'm serious).  Once I have all of my sweaters folded, I stack them on shelves so that they can all be seen at a glance.  I don't like putting things in drawers if I can help it because you can't see everything in the drawer at a glance, and inevitably, things get "lost" at the bottom.  And that's it!  Are you feeling more organized just reading this?!

I can't wait to see all of your photos - before, during, or after the clean out process!  Just be sure to use the hashtag #7DayClosetCleanoutChallenge to be entered into the drawing for the $25 Target gift card that I'll be doing at the end of the week!
