How To Get Glowing Skin for Summer

Anyone can apply makeup to achieve flawless-looking, dewy skin, but what about those lucky few that have naturally gorgeous bare skin?  Ever wonder how they got their perfect complexion?  Good genes ... just born lucky, right?  That's what I used to think.  And of course there are some of those.  But anyone can achieve glowing skin.  Yep, that's right - ANYONE.  You just have to know the secret.  And I'm going to let you in on it.

Regular exfoliation.  Wait - what?  That's it?!  Yes!  The key is exfoliating Every. Single. Day.   Your skin is continually flaking off, and this dead skin is making your complexion dull and clogging your pores, making them look enlarged.  But exfoliation whisks those dead skin cells away, either by manual or chemical exfoliation, revealing the newer, more supple skin underneath.  Let me give you an example of how much I exfoliate (and at 32 years old, my skin has never looked better.)  I use my clarisonic every night while cleansing.  Then, I follow with a chemical exfoliator (think alpha hydroxyl acids).  After that I apply a retinol cream, which is another chemical exfoliator.  I always end with a moisturizer.  I also use a home peel treatment once per week, and I get a professional microdermabrasion treatment every few months.

Perricone MD recently launched a new product line called the Pre:Empt Series, specifically targeting those first visible signs of aging (and unfortunately for us, ladies, this happens in your 20s).  I know most of you are in your 20s and 30s, which is a perfect time to get started on an anti-aging regimen!  Remember - you want to start fighting the signs of aging BEFORE they become noticeable.  It's much easier to prevent than correct!

When I was asked if I'd like to try one of the products from Perricone MD's new Pre:Empt Series, I immediately jumped on the Exfoliating Pore Refiner.  This product is a chemical exfoliator which clarifies and exfoliates your skin, reducing the size of enlarged pores, and gives your face a super smooth feel and that glow that only comes from revealing newer, more youthful skin!  This product is a liquid and is used similarly to a toner.  After cleansing (both morning and evening), saturate a cotton pad and swipe it over your face.  I've tried many chemical exfoliators, and some of them can be really harsh.  Like leave-your-face-red-and-burning harsh.  But not this product.  It's super gentle and its ingredients are naturally derived from a complex of turmeric, olive leaf, green tea and cress sprouts.

Overall, I really loved this product and would recommend it to all of my friends and readers 100%.  I love how gentle it is, yet still strong enough to give you visible results.  My only suggestion to Perricone MD would be to package this as pre-soaked facial pads so you don't have to bother with the cotton pads.  The Exfoliating Pore Refiner comes in a 4 fl. oz. bottle for $60.  If you are using it twice a day, this size bottle should last you for a few months.  If you sign up for emails, you'll receive 10% off!  And they offer free shipping and free samples with all orders!

The Pre:Empt Series is a 4 piece skincare line that includes a serum, eye cream, this pore refiner, and a moisturizer.  I can't wait to check out the rest of the line!  If the rest of the products are as good as the pore refiner, I'd say I have a new favorite skincare line!

Do any of you use Perricone MD products?  Have you tried the Pre:Empt Series yet?

  1. I've never heard of Perricone MD before, so I really enjoyed reading about the brand and the pore refiner, which seems like something that would work great for my skin, I have HUGE pores! I've always wondered how beauty bloggers/vloggers nearly all have clear, smooth, and glowy skin, even though they're constantly exposing their skin to different products and chemicals. I guess it does makes sense that it's the exfoliation because what are the odds that nearly all of them have the good genes for skin?! Thanks so much for sharing, gorgeous, and I hope you're having the most amazing week so far!
