Currently Coveting

Hi lovely ladies!  I hope everyone had a nice Easter!  We had beautiful weather here, close to 70 degrees, so we spent most of the day outside enjoying it.  Unfortunately, it's cooled off again so I'm back sporting a coat for now.

Here are a few of the items I'm currently coveting...

I just purchased this "Boy Mom" shirt this morning.  I'm a stay at home mom, so shirts like these are a staple for me.  It's so cute and so perfect for days we are just hanging around the house or running errands.  If you have a little girl instead, the Mama n Munchkins site has some other cute "mom life" shirts to check out!  Love the "no days off" shirt.  So very true.

I'm OBSESSED with the Clare V fold over leopard clutch.  I just can't bring myself to spend that much on a clutch I'll only use once in a while.  I think I'm going to purchase this one instead since it's a fraction of the price.

Chunky heels are in this spring/summer, and I need to get a pair.  These are the ones I've been eyeing.  I love a good nude colored heel!  You can never have too many in your closet.

This candle ... why can't I stop thinking about this candle?!  Everyone keeps raving about the Diptyque candles, and I really want to find out what all the hype is about.  This will be going on my birthday list.  I'm turning 32 in April, which totally blows my mind since I can't wrap my head around being older than 30.  I went to the McDonald's drive thru the other day (which is Mason and every other kid on the planet's favorite restaurant) and the high school kid taking my money called me ma'am.  That DID NOT make me happy.  When did I get old enough to be called ma'am?!

I'm obsessed with coffee table books right now ... which is a bit ironic since I don't own a coffee table.  A stack of pretty fashion books is always a winner on the home décor front, even if they don't go on a coffee table.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope everyone has a fabulous week!  Wyatt's first birthday party is this  weekend, so I'll be busy planning and getting ready for it over the next few days.  I do know he won't remember this party at all, or even understand what the heck is going on, but I always go overboard on my kid's birthday parties.  We are keeping this one very low key, but I'm still super stressed out about making it absolutely perfect.  I'll be spending the rest of my week cleaning the house like a madwoman and making super cute appetizers and fancy cupcakes.  I'll try to get a post up next week so I can show you how it turns out!

I'm obsessed with eyelets and peplum cut tops, so I instantly fell in love with this black top when I saw it at Target.  It's one of the many great pieces from their Who What Wear collection.  I'm wearing an XS.  The collection seemed to run a tad big on me so I sized down.

I snagged this top also (in white). It's such a great staple piece to add to my spring wardrobe!  I love the lace up detail. 

On a completely unrelated note, I watched the movie Ex Machina this past weekend, and it was SO GOOD.  I was pleasantly surprised because my expectations were pretty low, but if you haven't seen it I would definitely recommend it.  It's one of those robots-taking-on-human-qualities kind of movies.  Let me know what you think if you've seen it!

I've recently become obsessed with the idea of redecorating our house.  I think it's because we've been toying with the idea of building a new home, and because of that we've been touring lots of spec homes - which are all beautifully decorated!  Here are some of my recent home décor finds I wanted to share with you.  I purchased the grace wall print (number 7) last week, and I cannot wait to frame and hang it!  I love the quote ... "I will hold myself to a standard of grace, not perfection."

Spring Break Essentials Under $50

Spring Break is right around the corner, and I can't wait!  Since Wyatt is still under a year old and I'm a little nervous about traveling with him, we are just driving to Great Wolf Lodge for a few days.  It's such a chill place to take the kids for a few really relaxing days.  They have an amazing indoor waterpark (complete with a baby pool and slides for all ages, even my teenage stepchildren!), outdoor pool, several restaurants, mini golf, an ice cream and pizza shop (that delivers to the pool), and an arcade.  If you have kids, you should check it out for sure.  The one we go to is right down the street from Kings Island amusement park, so you can easily do that during the day if you visit in the summer.
Ok, enough about me.  Let's talk about these gorgeous pieces that are all UNDER $50.  Yup, you heard me.  I love looking at all the other fashion blogs out there, but I'm always so bummed when I click on an item and see that it's a $400 swimsuit or something ridiculous like that.  I know that's not realistic for most of us - but we can keep dreaming!
These gladiators are a must-have for this spring and summer.  I screwed up a bit in the picture above .. those are actually the Rebecca Minkoff gladiators that I'm in love with, which are $125 - but the Target version is almost exactly the same, and they are $33!  You all know the off-the-shoulder top is another trend that's going to be hot this summer, and this one is only $10!
And of course you need a good read for the pool or beach.  I read quite a bit, and this one is on my to-read list.  I'm cheap and have been on the library's waiting list, and there are like 96 people before me ... so I'm still waiting.  I know, I should just pay the $10 and be done with it.  Any other readers out there?  If so I'd love to be connect with you on Goodreads.  I love to see what other people are reading!
The St. Tropez self tanner is one of my favorites to give you a little color for those first few days you wear your swimsuit when you'd otherwise be pasty pale white (if you're like me!).  There are tons of self tanning options out there, so find one that works for you.  Now - this suit, I'm obsessed!  I tried it on at Target the other day and it fit perfectly and is so flattering.  I wanted something sexy but that still covered my post-baby stomach that I'm not quite ready to bare in a bikini.  I also love this one.

Organize Yourself

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I'm reading Organize Now!by Jennifer Ford Berry.  I know we can all use a little more organization in our lives, so I wanted to share my journey with you - and you can join me if you'd like! 

The book is divided into sections, such as "Organize Your Personal Spaces" and "Organize Your Storage Areas."  I'm currently working on "Organize Yourself."  To be completely honest, I was going to skip this part (shame on me, I know) but it actually has some really great tips!  Here are some of my favorites:

1.  Start your day by jotting down a short To Do list.  This will free your brain up from the burden of trying to remember everything.  Divide your list into the following 3 sections: tasks that need to be done today, this week, and in the future.

2.  Schedule more "me time."  Schedule some time into each day to do something you love. So true ... I know all of us could use this!

3.  Buy one daily planner and use it for both work and your personal life.  My personal favorite planner is this one by Create 365.  And it has tons of cute stickers and inspirational quotes to keep it fun.  I recently read over on another favorite organizing blog that I should try the Google calendar app.  Anyone used it?

4.  Clean one room or complete one household chore each day.  This keeps you from spending your entire weekend cleaning your house.

5.  Write down what your priorities in life are and make sure you are devoting your time where it matters.  A quote from the book is "If you don't decide what they {your priorities} are, others will decide for you."  This made me realize that I spend entirely too much time cleaning my home and doing other things that I don't enjoy (and that don't really matter in the grand scheme of things), but I don't spend nearly enough time actually doing things I enjoy.

Hi ladies!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!   
I wanted to show you guys my new favorite sweater from American Eagle - and it's HALF OFF and all sizes are still available!  That makes it ONLY $20, a total steal.  It also comes in an oatmeal color.  It's extremely lightweight and is actually sheer in the back since you don't have the double layer crossover that you have in the front.  I wore this bralette under it.  This sweater is so perfect for spring, and I think it would even look super cute with some distressed denim shorts.
Oh, and yes, that's my 5 year old in the background playing hockey.  He doesn't quite understand why mommy wants to take pictures of her clothes!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hi beauties!  Today I wanted to share some pictures of the super cute, ultra comfy side zip jacket that I wore to my father-in-law's birthday celebration over the weekend.  I picked this up at a local boutique called Sugar Love.  They have such cute items that are very affordable, and it's literally 2 minutes from my house - so I end up stopping in all the time.  Although this is a jacket, I tend to wear it as my shirt and still wear a coat over it in the winter.  Sorry for the low quality photos ... it was a horribly dreary day with no sunshine and it was COLD!

Reading is one of my favorite past times, although I don't have much free time with two crazy little boys at home!  I'm currently reading Dismantled by Jennifer McMahon.  It's really good so far - a mystery, suspense, thriller with a little ghost story thrown in!  I'm going to link to the books I'm currently reading over in the sidebar, so if you like to read you can join me and we can chat about it on here, Facebook, or Instagram.

Tassels are huge this spring, especially when it comes to accessories.  Here are some of my favorite tassel pieces.  I'm especially loving the bracelet set from BaubleBar - my favorite place to buy jewelry!

A few years ago I wore a tassel necklace to work and a fellow coworker made a comment that it reminded him of tassels hanging from the chest area in, ahem, another line of work.  It was embarrassing to say the least, and I haven't worn any tassels since!  He may have ruined the entire tassel trend for me.
