Neutrals

Bracelet  |  Necklace - old, similar here and here  |  Coach bag - old, similar here, here, and here

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  Today's post features my newest sweater from H&M - I am so in love with it and it's only $25!

I've been obsessed with the fresh, clean look of neutrals lately as we get ready for spring.  I just bought the white skinnies I linked above from Express and I can't wait for them to arrive!  (And they are having a denim sale right now - buy one pair, get the second for $29.90.)  This crossbody bag is one of my all-time favorites - the Coach penny purse.  Since it's a few years old, I've linked to some similar bags of varying prices.

Happy Monday!

The Perfect Mirror

I've been searching for just the right piece to hang over the back of our couch for years.  I don't buy anything unless I love it, so I've been biding my time until I ran into the perfect piece.  I finally found this mirror, and I'm so happy with it!  I was looking for a piece of art but saw this mirror and knew I had to have it!  I've been really into incorporating distressed wood wall hangings in my home lately, so this totally fit.  I purchased it at Hayneedle, but when I did a search I found it for almost $30 cheaper at Wayfair.  I wish I would have known that before I bought it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone had a great week!  Any plans for the weekend?  My husband Jim has been out of town all week on business so I'm looking forward to hanging with him and catching up.

I bought this sweater on a whim while I was buying Mason and Wyatt some spring clothes online at Old Navy  ... you know, the "one for you, one for me" mentality. :)  I was pleasantly surprised when I got it - super comfy, very cute, and only $24!  It's also really thin so it will transition perfectly into spring (if it ever comes ... it's freezing here right now!).  I didn't get a good pic of the side slits, but they are super flattering.  Old Navy clothes always seem to run a bit small for me, so I sized up to a medium and it fits perfectly.  It also comes in gray.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

The look for less...

1.   Aquazzura heel  /  Express fringe heel
2.   Valentino Rockstud  /  Halogen studded heel
3.   Stuart Weitzman flat  /  Steve Madden flat
4.   Stuart Weitzman boots  /  Steve Madden over-the-knee boots

Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to spend a fortune to look fab.  Here are some dupes of the hottest designer shoes of the season - at a fraction of the price!  I currently own the Steve Madden lace-up flats and LOVE them ... I can't wait to wear them on repeat this spring!

Do you own any of these or have them on your "to buy" list?

A rule to live by...

Handbag: Michael Kors Selma Studded Messenger (smaller, cheaper version here)

If you're like me, you like shopping - a lot.  And often.  But if you're also like me, you can't or won't spend a ton on items you're likely to wear only a few times.  So I'm going to let you in on a secret ... okay, really it's just common sense, but definitely a rule to live by.

Spend more on the pieces you wear the most often.  Read: handbags, shoes, jeans.  Spend less on the pieces you wear once, like that cocktail dress for the Christmas party.

I don't feel bad about buying a Coach handbag or two throughout the year, because I carry them EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.  And they make me feel absolutely fab.  So go ahead, spoil yourself with that one piece you wear all the time, and buy the rest at Forever 21 or H&M, where you can always get fashionable pieces at a fraction of the price.

You're welcome.

This is my most recent splurge, a gorg Michael Kors studded crossbody

What are your smart shopping tips?  I'd love to hear them!
